“Chengetedza is Shona for preserve”
Chengetedza was established in 2017 as a skills development project in visual arts, fashion, and handcrafts. It is a collective of practicing designers, artisans, and artists who bring a hands-on approach to training and collaboration.
Our aim is to provide equal opportunities for talented youth and women — including those from disadvantaged communities — by connecting them within the arts industry. Through exhibitions, fashion shows, and collaborative workshops, members share ideas and improve their craft, creating products that can compete on the international market.
Every artisan, designer, handcrafter, or artist in our collective has a unique story to tell. These stories, along with their finished works, are showcased on our Facebook page “Chengetedza”, where audiences can explore and support their creativity.
